decimal numbers are converted into integers when importing them into dataverse

Hey there,

my problem is, when I will import an Excel-File into Dataverse in Teams,

the decimal numbers in Excel become integers in Dataverse.

on the left Dataverse:              on the right Excel:

I tried it with english format (changing the Settings in Excel to use a Point instead of a Comma) but it also didn`t work.

I also tried several Encodings like Windows 1252 and UTF-8, also with point and comma, nothing worked.

Also tried different settings in the Query Builder.

Is there any easy solution?

Thanks for your help.

Hello, @Reini, Is your Dataverse Column a Decimal type column?

Thanks for that hint, no my Dataverse Column is "Float".

I can`t change the datatype in my dataverse table if there is data in it, I also have problems to import the data with datatyp decimal, but I figured out a workaround:
If I transfer my data with power automate into dataverse, it will work.

Screenshot of the flow in the attachment, in this case with a sharepoint list, but also worked with dataverse.

Unfortunately, there is still no simple solution for a simple function like importing data in the correct data format..

    Same Problems exists in Sharepoint.

    Thanks for your help.

I have the same problem importing excel table not only in Dataverse but also in Sharepoint list. I have the same behavior. I'm using Excel setting Italian local settings and Sharepoint site has the same setting.

Sharepoint/dataverse seems assuming English/us format (for ex. 1,900.00 instead 1.900,00), it find 1.900,00 and thinks "," like a thousands separator instead a decimal separator even if you correctly set regional setting.

Same problem if I use a .csv
