Hi,

Is it possible to create a column inside an Account view which says the total number of Contacts that an Account has?

Thanks in advance

Todd

    Hi @Tango,

Yes - you can define what is called a Rollup Column, which you can use to get the count of related Contacts for an Account.

    • When creating a new column, you'll want to select a whole number as the data type.
    • Under behavior select Rollup.

    • Click Save and edit to open up the rollup dialog
    • In the editor, select the Related Entity, in this case Contact.
    • Then under Aggregation, select Count.
    • Optional you can specify filters if you only want to count contacts that meet certain criteria (e.g. Contacts that are Active).

Note: The value does not update in real-time. By default this updates every 12 hours (for all records), but you can configure the bulk rollup calculation job schedule to as frequently as hourly. If you are looking at a specific record on a form, you can click the little calculator icon next to it and it will force a recalculation of the value instantly for that one record.
