Using sharepoint as knowledge source || Bot not understanding the lookup relationship of lists.

Hello Team,

We are extensively working on copilot agents. Recently we build a copilot agent in which we used the knowledge source as sharepoint lists which has multiple lookup column referencing to the master list data. I am not sure why generative ai is not able to understand the relationship between list data. Suggest the appropiate way to resolve this issue or it is still in development preview.

waiting for your valuable response.

Thanks.
I have the same question (0)

I am going to take a look at this but can you please give me a little more details.

Can you please explain the relationships themselves? You said you have multiple columns pointing to the master data, but I cannot tell if that means you have multiple Master Lists, and you have another List that points to 1-M master lists?

I would like to understand the structure of the data, you don't specifically have to share the data, but the List configurations will help me validate your issue and give you a solution.

If you can lay it out like

Master List 1 - Has Addresses
Master List 2 - Has Names
    etc

Referencing Table (Just what I calling it)
    has 8 columns

Column 2 points to Master List 1
Column 3 points to Master List 2

Or if I have it wrong please explain it in more detail.

    Thanks!

Query sent by user to bot:- Can you list the milestones associated with the Project "ABC"?

Data source: Project List, Milestone Master, Milestone master list.

Project List has all the details of a project.

Milestone List has all the milestone entries for a specific project and it is related with "ProjectID" lookup column which stores the ID of the Project from "Project" list.

This Milestone List has a lookup column named "Milestone" which is related to "Milestone Master" list and stores the value of Milestone (i.e. Name of Milestone) in value and ID of that item in Id

Let me know if you need more details.

What I would try, is to leverage an instruction to tell the Agent, how the relationship should work, and to use it to answer the questions.

So you would literally explain how to take that value (the lookup) and use it to get to Master, which has the value you then need, to go to the other table.
Since this is multi-levels deep I don't believe its going to answer you without you explicitly calling out the chain itself.

Any feedback on the suggestion, did you resolve your issue? If so, can you explain how for others?

    Thanks
