Struggling with Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise and Sales Hub Installation! Seeking Clear Instructions!

"I'm having a tough time locating a reliable installation guide for setting up Sales 365 Enterprise along with the Sales Hub software. The guidelines and YouTube videos I've come across are rather unhelpful, to say the least. Would anyone be able to assist me in understanding how to install and initiate the use of this software?"

    Try these steps:

    1. Navigate to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/environments

You need to either be a global admin, or at least, have the appropriate Power Platform admin role to do this.

    2. Click on New

    3.  Make sure to set the "Add a Dataverse data store?" to Yes

Also, fill out the Name, select the Type to Production (or Sandbox if this is for testing, you may change it from Sandbox to Production later or vice versa).

Then click on the Save button.

    4. On this screen which should be called "Add Dataverse", make sure "Enable Dynamics 365 apps?" is set to Yes

Note: Sales Hub may comes pre-installed and may not need to be explicitly selected for installation.

If you are able to, select Sales Hub or whichever other ones you want to automatically install from the "Automatically deploy these apps" section,

If it's not possible to select anything, you should be able to do this later if needed as long as you make sure the "Enable Dynamics 365 apps?" is set to Yes

Fill out the other required fields, such as especially the security group field (click there and just select None, if not  yet sure. You should be able to change this later if you want to restrict access to an Office 365 Security Group).

     Click Save at the bottom.

The Sales Hub may just be installed anyway after this deployment even if you didn't select it from the "Automatically deploy these apps" section earlier, as long as you had:

    - "Add a Dataverse data store?" set to Yes

    - "Enable Dynamics 365 apps?" set to Yes

If you want to install Dynamics 365 apps after environment deployment, use the below steps and see if they work for you:

    For your tenant:

    1. From https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/environments click Resources then click Dynamics 365 apps from the left side.

    poweractivate_4-1693271162632.png

    2. For example, suppose we want to install Dynamics 365 Customer Voice

    a. Select one of the apps from the list by hovering over the row, then clicking slightly to the left of the text where the circle is shown - it should turn into a purple checkmark now.

    b. Then click Install at the top.

    poweractivate_3-1693271042121.png

    3. Wait for the installation to complete.

If you see a "Manage" instead of Install, click that, and you may be taken to the new cloud solutions deployment page however, for most of the apps you want, it should say Install.

Also, note that Sales Hub may not be listed because it may already come pre-installed immediately after the deployment.

For a specific environment (note: you may have to follow all of the above steps first, then these steps below after that):

    1. Open environment for editing by going to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/environments and from the list of environments, click an environment.

    2. Click Resources at the top then click Dynamics 365 apps

    poweractivate_5-1693271288429.png

    3. Click "Install App" at the top.

    4. In the flyout menu that appears to the right, select a row that says the app you want to install, then click Next at the bottom.

    5. In the installation screen which now should be showing in that same flyout on the right side, click the Terms of service link to read it if applicable, then click on "I agree to the terms of service" checkbox, then click "Install" at the very bottom.

See if this helps as starting point @Joakim1992

Thank you so much for writing this up. I was beating my head against the wall trying to get a user access to this for the first time in our 365 environment. I kept trying to install Dynamics 365 for Sales in our default environment and it just wouldn't work - No errors or anything, it would say it was installing and then disappear. I thought it was a permissions issue or something so I ran around a whole bunch of rabbit holes all afternoon.

Your writeup on creating a new environment was exactly what I needed. I got it created, and had the app installed as part of the creation. I added my user to the appropriate Sales roles and voila.

Thanks for taking the time to help out!
