Hi everyone,

I created a custom register for my Portal users, full new page with new form that is able to create a new contact with User and Password.

The problem is that even using the correct field "hash........" the password does not get encrypted, which means that the login after doesnt work.

Can you guys help with :

Make a new password field that gets encrypted the same way as the Portal default?

Hi, may I ask if there was any specific reason to override the register functionality?

A few very key points here:

    • Microsoft's recommendation is to avoid using local authentication anyways, the recommendation is to use Azure AD B2C as your Identity Provider
    • However, creating a custom "on-boarding" process is something quite common, but after the user creates the Contact record (not the password), you can automate an Invitation process, this would send an e-mail to the contact allowing them to register in the Portal
    • Again, Password field is deprecated and you should avoid using that, if you really really need to follow that path, you can try triggering an existing custom workflow called "Adxstudio.Xrm.Workflow.Identity (1.0.0.2):Adxstudio.Xrm.Workflow.Identity.ChangePassword" and this should encrypt your password

Hi Oliver the reason i wanted to override was because of the need to have a full custom page for registering. Now im using a entity form for the registration, using the email as user and the password I customized the workflows that you indicated to encrypt it.

Thanks a lot for the help!
