Hi All,
I need to build a report preferably in power BI to show the trends for power apps per user licence. we have users assigned this licence and when they change team and no longer need this licence we need to get some reports generated so that we can monitor the users are not using allocated licence so that we can revoke their licence. mainly need to capture the licence last used date. please assist if there is any way to capture this information
Hi All, I also need to get a handle over the Power Apps per User Licences usage for example to remove users that do not require the licence or have not used Power Apps for over 6 months or to be able to report on increases or decreases usage.. I find it astonishing that there doesn't seem to be a way or no information on how to manage Power Apps per licence usage at an oransiation level.
I have noticed that for "Power Apps adoption" page with "Power apps premium MAU over time" information is related to premium apps not the licence. is there any way to look at the licence audit information?
Hi Joe
Thanks for your response and valuable information. Yes, we use PPCOE and will see on how we could use this information to get what we need. our management is more interested in keeping the licence allocation and usage under control. In our org we have D365 and for user (even business users) to have access to D365 we need to assign them power apps per user licence and management is expecting some sort of BI reports so that they can monitor the usage of D365 and revoke licence if users are not actively using allocation licence.
Hello @cammurali,
Have you installed the Center of Excellence? The CoE contains a Power BI report that is based on data you could use - for example, the "Power Apps adoption" page gives you an overview of the usage of premium licenses. You could build your own Power BI report based on this data to give you exactly the information you need (e.g. users not using their premium licenses).
If you're not using the Center of Excellence, the Audit logs in Office 365 might give you information on user activity in Power Apps.
Finally, another approach could be to assign licenses in AAD/M365 to groups of users instead of individual users, and to associate these groups with departments. If your users change departments, you can remove them from the group, and the licenses would automatically be removed from the users - I would assume that in the long run this is a better approach, especially for large volumes of users.
