Can I use a local or on-site SQL Server for PowerApps data?

We have a vast number of Microsoft SQL Servers at our organization, but they are all of course behind a firewall. How can PowerApps reach these if an app runs from the cloud?

    Hi @Anonymous

You can access internal SQL Servers by installing the on-premises data gateway. Here is a link to more information.

    Hi @Anonymous,

Do you want to use On-premise SQL Table as data source of your app?

If you want to access On-premise SQL table from your app, you must firstly install an On-premise data gateway within your computer. More details about installing a On-premise data gateway within your computer, please check the following article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/gateway-reference

In addition, more details about connecting SQL Server from PowerApps, please check the following article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/connections/connection-azure-sqldatabase

Please also check and see if the following video would help in your scenario:

    Best regards,

    Kris
