Gallery as drop-down

Hi,

I would like to use a gallery as a dropdown from a text input, my wish is after selecting an item it will automatically hide the gallery. also I want to see the selected item in the text input with the possibility to remove it or change it.

this idea is really familiar with the default email app from PowerApps where you can send emails. the only difference I'm using the MySQL database to fetch e-mail addresses instead of a collection.

Can someone help me please?

Thanks in advance.

Why would you use whole gallery as dropdown instead of just dropdown?

    Hey @Souhail1 !

Using a gallery as a dropdown is a horrile idea. Let me tell you why.
In the dropdown you can select the item that you want to select. Imagine you have a list of persons. You can select a date or a name (if the "search" allow it)
Using the gallery as a Dropdown, you would have to "play" with the visible property and when you select a item in the gallery you will have to set the default text from the dropow to the Gallery.Selected.Name(example)

My advice is to use only a Gallery or only a Dropbox

thanks for your reply and advice!

But design wise I like the way how its build in the default email app. the gallery is connected with a mysql datebase to show the e-mail addresses. is it possible when a new e-mail that doesn't exist in the database automatically will be saved, so it will show up for the next time?

it is basically the same structure as the default mail app, the only difference is that i use a mysql database instead of a collection.

I dont think I understand your question. But if u write a new email u have to save it locally or in the bd to show in the next time you use the app
