Dynamics 365 connector for Dataverse is almost ready to shut off

The Dynamics 365 connector was communicated as deprecated in May 2020. The Connector will be fully disabled at the end of October 2022. Starting November 2022, flows or Logic Apps using it will no longer function.

To avoid work interruption, you must update or replace your flows that use the Dynamics 365 connector with flows that use the Microsoft Dataverse connector, with the following exceptions:

  • Flows connecting to environments outside of the current environment
  • Flows that use the “When a row is selected” trigger
  • Flows connecting to environments in multiple geographic locations

If you meet these exceptions, you must move to the Microsoft Dataverse (legacy) connector instead. Once these features are supported in the Microsoft Dataverse connector you will be able to migrate to the newest connector.

You can use the Center of Excellence starter kit to help identify which connectors are in use in your environment. This Video shows how this can be accomplished.

The Microsoft Dataverse (legacy) connector triggers and actions will remain functional until October 2023. They can be used for migration from the Dynamics 365 connector to avoid disruption but will need to be replaced before October 2023.

In some cases, you will be able to use a migration tool to migrate your flow from the Dynamics 365 connector to the Microsoft Dataverse connector. On the detail page of supported flows, you'll see the message “Migrate this flow to the latest Microsoft Dataverse connector" and can open the migration assistant from there.

If your flow was created prior to June 2020, you won't be able to use the migration tool. To check this, you can confirm whether the Microsoft Dataverse connector is searchable when editing the flow. If this is the case, or if the migration fails, you'll need to manually recreate your flow using the Microsoft Dataverse connector.
