Hello everyone,

I’m currently trying to develop an app using the vibe.powerapps.com experience. The app that the AI generated was great right from the start, but it required a few tweaks to meet my requirements.

At the moment, I’m facing two challenges and have tried several options, but none seem to work so far.

Challenge 1: The app is unable to detect the currently logged-in user. In Canvas Apps, we normally use the User() function, but that doesn’t appear to work here. I assume the app should be using Entra ID to retrieve the user’s profile information, but I haven’t been able to access it yet.

Challenge 2: I’m unable to upload attachments to a SharePoint document library. I understand that without the user context, authentication and authorization may not work correctly, so resolving the first challenge seems critical.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Challenge 1: Retrieving the Logged-in User

Solution: Use the Office 365 Users Connector
Instead of relying on the built-in function, you should explicitly add the Office 365 Users connector to your app. This is the most reliable way to pull Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) profile data.

Challenge 2: Uploading to SharePoint Document Libraries

Solution: The Power Automate Bridge
Since you mentioned that authentication/authorization might be the bottleneck, using a Flow ensures that the "User Context" is handled by the connection itself.
