How to Import Managed Solutions With Connections

Hi Experts,

I have, in dev environment, a canvas app that uses Bing Map and SQL Server Connector. I have added the app inside a solution. I am exporting the solution as a managed solution, so that when our customers import they are not able to edit the app.

However, when I import the solution to a test environment, I see the following screen:

 Solution Import Error.png

I have tried adding the connections in the test environment prior to importing, but I get the same screen.

Pretty much, is there a way to export an app that has SQL Server and Bing maps connector to a customer's environment without them being able to edit the app?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Anonymous,

From what I know even with managed solutions, unfortunately no. It is a known limitation that is documented: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/common-data-service/use-solution-explorer#known-limitations

I suggest submit an idea (if one doesn't already exist) to enable this because it is a pain: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Ideas/idb-p/PowerAppsIdeas

I submitted the idea; thumbs up if you agree. 🙂
