Role based security sharepoint form

Dear community, I have a field in my sharepoint list form which should only be editable to person to whom the task has been assigned to. Is it possible to have this field level security or should this be achieved via sharepoint groups?

SharePoint doesn't have field level security. Its not possible to implement this using roles or sharepoint groups.

@Pstork1 thanks. Creating a flow that checks user is part of some group and then making the field editable will be viable option? What could be other way to achieve the same?

Yes, you can do that, but that isn't really security since the user can go to SharePoint and edit the field directly. SharePoint has no built-in provisions for field level security.
