Has anyone figured out how to call a Fabric Data Agent from a Copilot Agent topic?

Hi, I’m trying to do the same but haven’t found a way to invoke the Fabric Data Agent directly from a topic in Copilot Studio. I’d like to process its response within the parent agent, but I’m stuck on how to make that connection work. If you’ve managed to get this working or have any tips, I’d really appreciate the help!

Currently, Copilot Studio does not natively support direct invocation of a Fabric Data Agent from a Copilot Agent topic. The integration between Copilot Agents and Fabric Data Agents is limited; you can use Fabric Data Agents as data sources in Copilot Studio, but you cannot call them as sub-agents or trigger them directly from a topic’s logic.

Yes, it is possible, but it’s still in preview and has limitations.

You can connect a Fabric Data Agent to a Copilot Agent via the “Add Agent” mechanism in Copilot Studio. Once connected, with generative orchestration enabled, the Copilot Agent can route user queries to the Fabric Data Agent based on its semantic description.

To call a Fabric Data Agent from a Copilot Agent topic, direct invocation within a topic isn't natively supported. However, you can achieve this by using the “Add Agent” feature in Copilot Studio. When you add the Fabric Data Agent to your Copilot Agent and enable generative orchestration, the system can route user queries to the Fabric Data Agent based on semantic understanding.
