Remove All Aspects Of Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud From Azure

This is a lengthy background as I want to make sure that when it finally lands on someone's desk that Microsoft begins to understand that using AI to streamline their processes and save money is actually costing them consumers. Not sure if the Admins will keep the post up but will be publishing on my website anyway. As an extremely small Equine Rescue nonprofit with no paid staff and I am the only IT volunteer, any help that IS NOT telling us to Contact Support would be appreciated!

BACKGROUND

Microsoft Philanthropy is dropping the Azure Grant to $2,000 a year beginning October 1, 2023 and doing away with the the Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise licenses. They will come in around $23.80 each, per month. We currently run an instance of the Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud with zero data and that runs roughly $2,200 a month without any addons like Entra, Purview, Defender, etc. The reality is that it will be unsustainable as it is an additional $200 a year for Azure and then yet another $285.60 in licensing without any of the recommended addons. Of note is the fact that when we started, we did our own coding because the Partner wanted like $15,000 just to set things up. We were denied any ability to discuss pricing throughout the process. It is almost identical (except we are a nonprofit) to this post.

We submitted a ticket to Microsoft on Monday, Aug 7, 2023, 8:39:44 AM as Support request ID 2308070040004383. It is the second one over the past month and no reply. We attempted to contact the Microsoft Nonprofit GitHub Developers here and no reply. Multiple uses of the Contact Us on virtually every location I could find went unanswered including to the Nonprofit Azure Onboarding Concierge and Success Center. The Microsoft Tech for Social Impact Team was also unresponsive. This, all coming after months of server issues which were finally fixed on Ticket . We were further advised that we could not get pricing estimates for really anything on Case 2307300040000011. We were told to call 1-855-270-0615 and Sales told us they could not talk to us because we were a nonprofit.

For months, Case Number 2210050040005694 which eventually was merged with Case Number 2210080040001133 because the information was "lost" and then re-created as Case Number2210050040005694 languished because of a server side issue. Six (06) months later and over 100+ entries of useless communications including with a dedicated team from Microsoft Tech for Social Impact with a Project Lead and Engineer were to no avail. Billing remained ongoing, though. Finally, on a separate ticket we were advised that it was Microsoft's issue and it had been resolved. For a month, no issues and then yet another upgrade caused a similar issue killing another couple of months. We were appointed a Meet your Microsoft Advisor and Point of Contact whom ghosted us, as well.

DESIRED OUTCOME

How do we get rid of the Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud while still retaining the licensing for products? Currently, we have and obviously, we would like to keep our licenses below and SharePoint and all things Microsoft 365 like Teams, etc.:

Azure AD Premium P1

Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise Edition

Microsoft 365 Business Basic

Microsoft 365 Business Premium

Microsoft Fabric (Free)

Microsoft Power Automate Free

Nonprofit Portal

Power Pages vTrial for Makers

Obviously, the D365 Sales Enterprise is going away.

We are completely in the cloud and an extremely small, all volunteer nonprofit. So, any suggestions to properly remove all of the Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud, it's billing, etc. would be greatly appreciated! I want to emphasize that in this iteration, there was nothing really wrong with the product. I installed it for our NPO as we opted not to pay the $15,000+ to the Microsoft 'Partner' whom they teamed us up with. I have full access to everything and am the only admin and user.

Sorry to hear about your long struggle. I have posted a question on the Microsoft for nonprofit forum to hopefully get some answers: Uninstalling Cloud for Nonprofit - Microsoft Community Hub

    Hi @frer_ghost

This response from Lucia might be helpful (originally posted here: Re: Uninstalling Cloud for Nonprofit - Microsoft Community Hub)...

The F&E billable Azure resources are connected to your live Azure subscription. You can delete the Azure Resource Group that holds the Azure functions used by Fundraising and Engagement, but please be careful to check that no other needed Azure functions are using that same Resource Group. It is always recommended that a new resource group be created just to host the F&E functions but that is not always the case. If the resource group is being shared you need to remove all of the F&E modules - these are identifiable by virtue of the naming convention you use.

You can pause/cancel the Sales Enterprise license subscription with your CSP (license service provider).  Yes, you can delete the environments but you will lose any data that is stored in the Dynamics instances, and this would be unrecoverable.

    Hope this helps.
