Is it possible to hide dashboard ribbon or certain commands?
I tried to hide these commands using Ribbon Workbench but it does not work and commands are still visible.
If the solution has more than 5 entities, you won't be able to hide it with Ribbon Workbench. I would recommend to create a separate solution and add that entity to the new solution and then hide it with Ribbon Workbench.
Yes, most Ribbon buttons can be hidden from the Ribbon Workbench using the right-click and hide approach, but not all. Some buttons (such as Save and Add New or Deactivate) are based on permissions and not subject to custom action. You're clearly trying to customize the Dashboard editor ribbon, which is something I've never tried myself, but the same rules should apply.
Make sure you've done a Publish All and a hard refresh of the page after editing in the Workbench. If your buttons are still there, you can try trimming away permissions (i.e. If I do not have Create permission on User Dashboards, the +New button will not be visible to me). But I don't think you will find any supported way to hide Refresh and Set as Default if they cannot be hidden from the Workbench.
