I am an Access developer exploring how to replace Access front end desktop app with a cloud app. Is there front-end solution to create forms, queries and reports for Dataverse?

Thanks.

    @Tal22

    You can build forms, queries and reports for dataverse using Model driven app and Power BI.

    Please check the tutorial created by Lisa

    Good luck building solutions using Power Platform.

    Thanks for the video link. After viewing it, I concluded that the process and workflow to develop Model Driven Apps is a far too complex and convoluted process. There simply isn't' any demonstrable development logic to use this tech. In any case, after testing, I deleted a record, and my entire table was deleted as well. I am not confident that DV is a reliable solution to hold my data.

    @Tal22

    Environments with Dataverse capabilities does provide backup and restore options by default not any other datasources.

    Also, if you delete a record, table should never get deleted.

    may i know more about your requirements on what you are trying to achieve?

    Feel free to create a new thread so others can help as well?

    Hi, I am developing in Access. I typically build tables in Access, build forms, queries, reports and then test and refine. I then export the tables to Dataverse to use as the data sources using Access forms as the front end (split database configuration).  Virtually all my users will do their work on desktop machines. I send the users the Access ACCDE database file that they load on their machines. The main downside to this is that when I update the App's I have to send new files to replace the old ACCDE files.

    I was looking at building Model Driven apps to bypass this process. Unfortunately, I find the learning curve far more involved than using Access. The same goes for complexity. I find Model Driven apps far too complex to easily and rapidly develop apps, as opposed to Access, which is more developed and much faster database dev tool. That said, I don't mind learning Model Driven forms but after an entire Dataverse table was deleted by deleting a single data row, I am hesitant to use Model Driven forms and Dataverse for that matter. I want to set up an SQL server, but my organization wanted me to try to exploit their full 365 Power Apps license. Is there a way to automatically backup Dataverse tables on a daily basis?
