Power Query from Get Data will not allow file paths

I'm currently following an online MS course on the Common Data Service but have hit brick wall load data via ether CSV or EXCEL files into the Entities I've created. When I'm inthe Entity I select Get Data to open the Power Query dialog with either an Excel or CSV file the Next button never highlights.

Playing with it the Next button is dimmed when the : has a character added before it i.e. changing : to c: . The refusal to accept the letter makes typing a path such as c:\file.cvs difficult to say the least.

Has anyone else encountered this ?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

you will need to upload your file to OneDrive first and load it from there

    Hi @Anonymous ï¼Œ

In this way, you could only imprort excel file from onedrive, not local.

You need to firstly upload your excel to one drive, and then click "browse one drive", choose the file.10219.PNG

Based on your description, I think that you want to get data from local excel file.

Then, please not choose "get data", choose "get data from excel".102110.PNG

In this way, you could choose local excel file.

    Best regards,
