Change the AllowEmptySelection of the drop-down to true.

Hi @WarrenBelz,thanks for the input, but it seems to be not working. I want to have the dropdown by default to be empty.

It should be blank with those settings - you really should not have to do this, but make the Items
Ungroup( Table( { Item: Table( {Value: Blank()} ) }, { Item: Choices('AD Daten'.Mitarbeiterkategorie) } ), "Item" )
and also clear the Default.

Sorry for the late reply, haven't been in the office. So, after saving and reopening the app as itself it worked perfectly with "AllowEmptySelection".
