User account not visible in environment

In our Microsoft tenant we have an Office 365 User with an Office 365 E3 license.

This user is member of a security group. This group has been used to restrict access to an environment to only the members of the group.

However the user is not visible in the Active Users view (or in any view for that matter!) (via Settings > Users + permissions > Users > Manage Users in Dynamics 365) (The user has been added weeks ago - this shouldn't be a sync problem)

The User is however able to log in to a Canvap app in this environment, since it's shared with the user.

What do I miss here?

I have the same question (0)

Is this the Default tenancy environment or another?

Maybe obvious, but does the user in question have  a licence to enable them to be in that environment? If it is the Default environment, they should appear with the Office licence.

Other environments (depending on type) may require a Dynamics or Power Apps licence.

No, this is not the Default environment.

And yes: the user has an Office E3 license.

If it is a CDS/Dynamics environment then the user will need a Dynamics or Power Apps licence to become an Active user; Office licences won't be enough.

But you can still share an app with anyone in the tenancy.

Is your canvas app using SharePoint as opposed to CDS?

    Thank you for your replies.

Yes, we use SharePoint in a Dataverse enabled environment.

The only way to make these users Active is to assign them a Power Apps / Dynamics licence if you have any.

I currently assign all users a licence for 5 minutes to make them appear in the environment and then remove it. It leaves them as disabled users but at least they are there and can be referenced.

Go to the Power Platform Admin Center, select your environment, and click users in the Access tile.  You can add users from that screen.  In my tenant, unlicensed users show up in the list and can be added as long as they're enabled and in the correct security group and/or OU in AD (if you use AD - we have a hybrid setup).

If your users don't pop up or it won't allow you to add them and you're sure they're enabled and in the correct security group/OU, you can try giving them the Power Automate Free License in the 365 Admin Center
