Hi,
I saw what looks like a post from 2018 where there are issues with dragging or placing fields on a form. Perhaps saying moving fields on a form would be clearer. Here we are in 2024 and this issue is not resolved. Someone suggested "supposed" fixes like: refresh the browser, (remember the old reboot solutions from MS), republish, etc.
These supposed fixes do not work. I'm on 2023 O365, and I am editng the default form for a list on Sharepoint, and I cannot move fields around on a form.
Things I've tried:
- Changing the form from 2 or 3 columns to 1 column (there are no zero columns choices, so I assume one column was the best choice to place the fields anywhere I want on the form, rather than align them to columns)
- Widening the form (oddly after widening it and opening it from the list in Sharepoint that doesn't work in that when you open the form from the Sharepoint list it's not any wider)
- Going through the settings to see if something there restricts field placement on the form - nothing there
ODDLY enough.... in the Advanced (Properties) tab, after changing the x or y value for the field on where it's supposed to be at on the form, the value in the position text boxes show, or actually reflect the changes made. So if I type in the x position at say 300, the first or Properties tab forces the X position value to only be 0 (far left and I can't move it), but in the Advanced tab, it shows the X position as what you typed. SoooOOOooo - PowerApps has 2 places to put the same data (the X, Y position), and they can have different values.
ANOTHER OBSERVATION: The order of the fields in the FIELD LIST seems to have an impact on field placement. I noticed as I moved fields up /down the list they can or may move on the form, but not always.
QUESTION: Does publishing your form also then update or refresh it back in the "Edit" or on the development page?
QUESTION: Does saving the form (the floppy disk ICON) update or refresh the form changes back in "Edit" or on the development page?
Is this actually/truly being worked on?
My concern here is that in reality that after 3 years, it's not any closer in being fixed.
Knowing web design, I am also concerned that they had to "tie" a simplistic form design into DIVs behind the scenes, and this is much more difficult than meets the eyes.
Thanks!!
