Error when importing the solution into a new environment

Hi all!

In a default Power Apps environment with Dataverse I have a solution that contains an app, two flows, and two connection references. I export this solution as unmanaged and import it into a Dataverse sandbox environment. This is the error I get.

Solution "Solution_Name" failed to import: The dependent component EnvironmentVariableDefinition (Id=name) does not exist. Failure trying to associate it with CanvasApp (Id=id_number) as a dependency. Missing dependency lookup type = EntityNameLookup.

Why am I receiving this error if there are no environment variables within the solution? I had created them previously but deleted them. Could they have been left behind? How can I resolve this?

Thank you.

Yur solution is missing the required dependency from your source solution. The canvas app you have created inside the solution is using the environment variable however that environment variable is not added in your current solutions. The possibility is that you might be using the existing environment variable which is part of other solution.

To find out which exact environment variable is missing, go to your source solutions and in use the ellipsis on your Canvas app and click the options "Show Dependencies". Once you find out exact, add it as part of this solution and then export it again.

Hope this helps you to fix the issue.

    Hi @VishalGurav

    Thanks for your response!

In the 'Show Dependencies' section of the app, there is no environment variable listed, only the two flows that it contains.

    How can I resolve this?

I closely observed the error again, I have following findings:
    • Have you used a environment variable in your all which contain the entity name?
    • if yes, then the used entity is not present in target environment.
If above is not the case can you share more details about you solution and the artefacts in it.

    Hi @VishalGurav!

Can you explain to me better what this means: 'Have you used an environment variable in your all which contain the entity name?'

    Thanks
