Hello.
Please tell me how to use Dataverse in the default environment.
In the future, we are planning to use Power Platform for the whole company.
First of all, we are planning to operate in three environments: development environment, production environment, and default environment.
We plan to use the default environment as an individual development environment for citizen developers.
Is there anything that we should announce or warn citizen developers about when we allow them to use Dataverse?
Also, is there anything that the IT department should be aware of?
Thanks for reading!
Love and Peace.
I have one more question: can reallocate the default environment storage across different environments or should someone purchase additional storage for each new environment?
Hi @komesuke,
Just following up as to whether the original response sufficiently answered your question? If so, please consider marking it as a solution.
Hi @komesuke,
It is recommended to assign an Azure AD Security Group to the environment with Dataverse so that only the group members are added as users into the environment. Otherwise, it will add every licensed user in your tenant to your environment, bloating up your users table.

Hello.
Thank you very much for your very detailed answer.
I understand about using Dataverse in the default environment.
Just for reference, if I create another environment and use Dataverse in that environment, is it preferable to grant access rights to a group?
Hi @komesuke,
I wouldn't recommend using Dataverse in the default environment for a few different reasons.
It is recommended to keep the default limited to personal productivity scenarios, where users just make simple apps and flows that are not business critical. As a result, they will not consume near as much of the default environment storage capacity since apps and flows do not consume much relative to data.
I would recommend using separate environments to support development efforts for critical applications, or applications that would be used by a specific business areas.
The below article goes more into depth around environment strategy and will help guide.
