Unable to trigger Power Automate flow from Copilot Studio

I am trying to trigger a Power Automate flow from Copilot Studio, but it is not working.

In Power Automate, I have set the trigger to “When an HTTP request is received” with the following settings:

  • Who can trigger the flow? Any user in my tenant

Could you please confirm if I need to pass a token or any additional authentication when invoking the API endpoint provided by Power Automate from Copilot Studio?

I have the same question (0)

I would recommend using the “When an agent calls the flow” trigger instead of “When an HTTP request is received” for triggering your Power Automate flow from Copilot Studio.

    Hi,

When using the **"When an HTTP request is received"** trigger in Power Automate and calling it from **Copilot Studio**, authentication is indeed a key factor to consider.

Even though you've set the trigger to allow "Any user in my tenant," Copilot Studio does not automatically pass authentication tokens unless explicitly configured. Here are a few points to help you move forward:

    1. **Authentication**: If your flow is triggered via an HTTP request, and you're calling it from Copilot Studio using a tool or custom action, you typically need to include an **authorization header** with a **Bearer token**. This token must be acquired via Azure AD and must have the appropriate permissions to call the Power Automate endpoint.

    2. **Alternative approach**: Instead of using a raw HTTP trigger, consider using the **“Run a Power Automate flow”** action directly within Copilot Studio. This method handles authentication automatically and is more tightly integrated with the platform.

    3. **Security settings**: Double-check that the flow is shared with the user or service principal that the Copilot is running under. If you're using a service account or managed identity, ensure it has access to the flow.

    4. **Documentation references**:
       - Trigger a flow with a HTTP request
       - Use Power Automate flows in Copilot Studio

    Thanks and best regards,
    Daniele
