Slow response from Sharepoint Connector (Europe)

Hello Power Apps Community,

we are developing small PowerApps with a Sharepoint Connector for our clients. A month ago we first noticed an issue across different tenants that sometimes the query to Sharepoint failed with an error like "Error loading data from the network", we looked into different aspects like throttling limits and optimizing our queries, but nothing helped. We contacted Microsoft Support, but the day after all issues were gone, without a change on our side, so no further need to have them step in.

Since last week we see an increase of response times again on our apps, which are independent of each.

For example we have an app for time tracking which loads the list of customers (about 50 records), which usually loads within one or two seconds, can sometimes run indefinitely or return an error. This particular app is used just by one person maybe five times a day, so I doubt that there is a throttling issue .

Looking at the network requests in Edge it shows https://europe-002.azure-apim.net/invoke take a long time to respond.

I think there is performance problem on Microsofts end. Is anybody else experiencing the same issues?

Regards,

Johannes

Yes, we are experiencing this issue lately also! We are in EU. The only pattern I see is that it's at it's worst during peak business hours - totally unusable with errors and timeouts. Last friday (22nd) it was really bad, this weekend performance was good/normal and today just like friday.

In the admin portal, under service health, there is a service degradation advisory as follows:

    April 23, 2022 3:40 AM
Title: Users receive inconsistent search results for SharePoint Online content or some items may be excluded User Impact: Users receive inconsistent search results for SharePoint Online content or some items may be excluded. Current status: We're continuing to deploy an updated ranking model; however, this is being done in stages, which is taking longer than anticipated. We anticipate to have a timeline for the first stage of this fix by our next update time. Scope of impact: Impact may occur for any user attempting to search for SharePoint Online content. Start time: Friday, March 25, 2022, 3:54 PM (2:54 PM UTC) Root cause: A recent service update intending to improve SharePoint Online search functionality produced a conflict within a specific SharePoint Online search component that is resulting in impact. Next update by: Monday, April 25, 2022, 10:30 PM (8:30 PM UTC)

Thanks for your reply, good to know that there are some other PowerApps fellows out there experiencing this issue. I have not seen any official Microsoft statement to this issue. We have customers heavily relying on PowerApps for their daily operations and all are really stressed about this performance issues.

Interesting, thank you! I'll keep an eye on that, but nevertheless it's not mentioning anything regarding PowerApps. Still I think there are performance issues during peak hours as you wrote!

The SharePoint issue may be related since it's about search functionality. After all, our apps are doing lookups and filtering all the time against lists.

Same issue here. Today even simple sharepoint lists with a view columns and items take up to 70 seconds!!!! to load. We noticed that app using SQL have the same issues, so it seems an issue with data connections from powerapps to datasources in general. It's really impacting the trust in powerapps as enterprise applications. It's already since this morning and we have user complaining across the board, and there is nothing we can do, they app working fine last week. What a nightmare.

"It's really impacting the trust in powerapps as enterprise applications."

Agreed, this is bad. Interesting to see if this only impacts EU? I have opened a support ticket. I attached a monitor trace file that showed one app using 3 minutes to launch! Usually it opens in 2-3 secs.
