Can't rearrange forms / data fields!

Can anyone please explain to me why it is so difficult to move data cards around? I have a form which is currently set to have 3 columns, but for some reason, on a couple of lines I can only place two cards and then there is a blank? I can't understand how something so simple can be so difficult to achieve!

Forms have many built in features that take a lot of coding to duplicate with a patch. IMHO, it is worth getting used to some of the intricacies of the form to easily access these features. For a very complete discussion, I suggest @RandyHayes 's superb video called Forms+ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w724AECyMxo . It made a believer out of me!

Funny you saying this as I have literally just done this and it has helped. I just can't understand why you can't simply drag things where you want them! I normally prefer a gallery with a patch command so that I can move things where I want!

One tip that I have found helpful is to move any hidden fields to the bottom of the fields list.
