Component Event/Action OnSelect not working?

Hey all! I am stumped!

Here is the scenario:

There is a button in my component tied to an Event(Text) The button code is: ComHdr.OnClick()

The Event OnClick() in my App Will not UpdateContext or variable, it won't even Notify.

I may be missing something like once the Event is triggered it does an Action? I have spent a good chunk of my day researching this.

Hi,

Just to be clear. You created an Event in your Component.

You are triggering it (in the component) by doing XXX.Onclick

Then you are going to the App screen side (not component side), to the component you embedded, to the OnClick event and then updateing the Context there?

It should work fine if you are. Thats how its supposed to be.

please let me know or share a screen shot if you can.

I thought so as well. I looked up tutorials on this and everything is saying it should be working. It is not...

Yeah thats weird.
Ive only seen that if the component has changed and you need to remove and readd it and or CTRL F5.

Stupid question but did you save it before try to Click?

I just created a component and did what you did and it worked fine. Sometimes though if your app has other errors something it can block it too.

Very strange.

I would do this as a test.
in your Component on the App side do a
Trace("Im here");
Then use monitor to grab it. I almost believe it will make it show the Notify
Once it does.. you can take it out

If I make the button change a variable within the component and a label display it then the button works. Any interaction with the app doesn't work. I have deleted the components and going to clear my history.

Thats very weird. I purposely created a variable and a context variable. My event updated them both.

I think the Gremlins got you KRider 😞 did you feed them after midnight?

Hahaha! If you consider gremlins my kids absolutely! Hahaha, So I took your advice, completely removed the components from the app( They had been in there for a year and half? ) and then deleted my browser history. It's all working now! Thanks FLMike!

Ive built so many as an Employee there and then helping them after I retired, I've seen it all.. ok thats a fib but ive seen enough that I never want to see anything new lol

Not a fan of the new button. I like customization and I use a settings database for my users. Hopefully it gets better! Hahaha.

Since then it has stopped working on a screen or 2 but it still works in production. Not sure whats going on.
