When should we use solutions in Power Platform?

Hello,

If we have one developer building a few PowerApps, Flows, and maybe a model-driven app, using Dataverse as the data source, do we need to use solutions? The current environment is a sandbox environment. There will be no need to move the component from one environment to another or use them in another tenant. The project is an in-house application used only within a specific environment.

Thank you

    Hi @AhmedSalih ,

Solutions are created mainly to deploy components from one instance to another.

It is also best practice to use solution, if we want to categorize the components(standard or custom) easily which we are working on or everytime we end up searching/modifying default solution. Also if multiple developers involved we can keep tab on who is working on what.

If it answers your question, kindly give kudo and accept it as solution.

    Regards,

    Prakash

    Hello @AhmedSalih

Hope you are doing good, As per Microsoft standard if we are working with an environment we don't need an solution need until unless if we are moving solution from one environment to another.

But if we create a custom fields or custom entities then the field will create with prefix as new_ or cradf_ . If you want to have your custom prefix then you need to create a SOLUTION, so that based on the PUBLISHER the prefix will automatically gets prefixed.

    Note :

As per MS standard it's good to have solution created and work.

Hello @rampprakash and @Prakash4691, Could you kindly provide documentation link that specifically states that the use of solutions is best practices? Why would we be able to create single non-solutioned apps if that is a poor practice?
