Owner of connection references quit, now no connections are working

Hello,

We have a Power App and a few flows in a solution and they're all relying on the standard Sharepoint/Outlook/Excel Business connectors.

Now, due to company policy, the account which created all these connections has been removed.

Is there no way to have these connection references stick around and be viable even when the owner accounts has been removed?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello @johanSpanberg,

Yes, you can reuse the connection reference and point it to another connection instance (which uses another user account).

    To do this,

    1. Open your solution
    2. Find the connection reference(s) you need to change and click on its name:

    3. In the sidebar, in the connections dropdown, choose another connection, or create a new one:

There is no way to have these connections be user agnostic?

Yes, you could create them using a service account. When users use your app, their credentials will be used for the connection anyway.

For flows, depending on the trigger you're using, you can specify if the connection of the user referenced in the connection reference is used, or the connection of the user that triggers the flow. You can find more information on this here.

Has anyone found a way to change the Owner of an existing connection reference. We have a PowerApp that when we remove a PowerAutomate or make changes to it, we are unable to add it back to the PowerApp because it uses a Connection Reference for which we are not the Owner. We need to figure out how to get this changed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Aaron

I am still struggling with this. I think the solution may need to exported and the imported by the new owner.
