    Hi @JeanneVU ,

Do you mean that when you import excel to cds entity, after you choose main field, it will get error?

I've made a similar test but not met the same problem like your description.

    I could import excel successfully.

Could you tell me the fields' data type in the cds entity?

Here's my test for your reference:

1)The excel that I want to import is in local.

2)choose " get data from excel"

3)choose the entity that you want to import

4)upload excel  //your data in excel should have been formatted as a table

    5)map fields

     6)must choose for main field

in my test the main field's data type is: Text

    7) click "save changes", "import"

    Best regards,

    Hi @JeanneVU

I feel your pain, I have a lot of issues trying to import data into CDS!

I have a workaround that should solve all your problems.

First, build out the entity with the appropriate fields to map your excel columns (it sounds like you've done this already)

Next, convert your excel file to CSV by going to Save As and selecting CSV from the dropdown list.

Here's the trick. We are going to use the data import wizard, and I'll bet it won't give you the same errors.

From the maker portal, click the gear icon, then Admin Center. Click Environments, then select your environment and click Settings. Expand Data Management and click Imports:

From Imports click Import Data from the top ribbon. The wizard will open, which is pretty easy to use. Add your CSV file, pick the entity to map to and follow the steps.

Let me know if this import method works for you, or if you hit any snags. You shouldn't get the errors this way.
