Power BI can't authenticate Power Apps CDS connection

I'm testing a new setup, but can't get past step one and not sure what I'm missing - trying to analyze CDS data in Power BI. I have installed Power BI Desktop, and in my Power Apps under Data >> Entities click on the 'Analyze in Power BI' button as shown in attached screenshot.

Connection file downloads, and when opened launches Power BI Desktop and attempts the connection. A dialog appears to with the credential options, and I sign in to the same Microsoft Account from the Power Apps setup. Try to connect - no go (screenshot attached).

I am using free community editions of both products at the moment. The 'Edit data in Excel' functionality works fine at the Entity level for modifying data, so the connection is able to be made.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi @reddingmay ,

Regarding the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The screenshot as below:

Based on the screenshot that you mentioned, it seems that your credential could not access this feature. Please make sure if your current account have sufficient permission to access CDS data in your Power Apps Environment.

Also please make sure you have been assigned with a Administrator role in your current Power Apps Environment. Please check and see if the following article could help in your scenario:

As an alternative solution, you could also consider connect to your CDS service from your Power BI through the Common Data Service connector directly:

then specify your Environment Instance URL there:

then check if you could connect to your CDS Server properly.
