Error when user requests access to canvas app

Hi all,

When a person who doesn't have access tries to open the Canvas app, it gets a nice error (in Dutch in the first picture below) that the user doesn't have access to this app. But at the bottom right it says in purple "Toegang aanvragen", which means: "Request access". When the user clicks here, the user always get the error which is shown in the second picture. In English this error means: "Something went wrong, try again later or ask the owner of the app".

Does anyone here have an idea on how to solve this?

Thanks in advance,

Sander

    @Sander611 You have to share that App with that user.

    Hey, I know haha. But I want to have this to work. So that users that opens the app (without me knowing) get a chance to request access to it...

    Not sure that's an option, as Power Apps relies on that sharing (as well as the data sources); you could get hack-y with it and embed the Power App in a SharePoint page. Then if a user navigates to that page and they don't have access, they can use the "request access" portion of the webpage.

    Weird, this seems like out-of-the-box functionality. But I can't find the logic/code for this. Thanks for the alternative way, but unfortunately this isn't possible for me.

    I discovered that the issue only occurs when the owner of the app is a Service Account. If I publish the app on my personal account, it works fine, and I receive an email.

    The error message I found in Chromes debugging tool was the following:

    error: {code: "MissingUserEmail", message: "The user's email address is not available."}

    I've checked the 365 user profile and the Service Account has its own email address. I've also compared if my personal account and the service account both have the same rights.

    Does anyone have a clue from where to go from here?
