Populate a form from a combo box Sharepoint

Hi,

This will be the simplest question.

I have a screen, with a combo box dropdown, selecting from a salesforce list.

Below I have a form in which I want to display / update the item found in the combo box. How do I tie the two together?

Thisitem is not working it seems.

Thanks

M.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    You have to assign the same datasource to both the combobox and the form. Then to fill in the form with the selected item from the combobox, you have to fill in the 'Item' property of the form next:

    Capture.PNG

    Then if you select an item in the combobox, the form will be populated with the data from the selected item.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

    Apologies , but the only field that is populating is the one that is being searched on in combo box.

    How do I get the rest of the form to follow?

    I have done as stated in mail, form and combobox have same datasource

    And placed item for form to be combobox.selected.

    Hey @Anonymous

    So you mean there just one field in the form that is getting populated? Or only one field is shown in the form?

    Normally all the items should be automatically populated by the data, unless you have made some changes to the fields.

    Make sure that all Default properties of the controls are set to 'Parent.Default'.

    Or try deleting the fields first and then add them again to the form. This could reset some properties:

    Capture.PNG

    If that doesn't help, maybe check if the reason the fields aren't populated is because the list doesn't have any data for those fields.

    If you only have one field, then of course add some to the form.

    Hi,

    Thank you. I will go and check, but this is all vanilla, I have made no changes to the forms or the fields.

    I will have a play and report back ta.

    Hi,

    I have removed re-added fields, etc and ensured that there is data in the sharepoint list for the entries I am testing with.

    But I am still not able to get any field in the form bar the Title (This is combo box search field)

    On form

    Items = ComboBox1.Selected

    Datasource = AccountActionsNextSteps

    Combobox

    Items = AccountActionsNextSteps.Title

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Ta

    I believe I have sorted it, the datasource on the combox box was only pointing at the Title, rather than the whole.

    Thank you

    I have exactly the same issue.  I am not able to populate a Display Form from the selection of a ComboBox.  Both the ComboBox and the Display Form have the same Data Source (Materials).  The Items for the ComboBox is set to Materials.MaterialTitle.  The Item for the form is set to [combobox].Selected.  No matter what I try the form remains blank.  Help please!
