Add notes option to a ticket in PowerApps

Hello,

I use Power Apps and Share Point to build a Service Desk application.

Now, i managed to filter the tickets, to make them editable by only the user in requester and admins only.

I want to add a multi line text field as a note to the ticket.

Using Patch i don't really understand how to do that.

    Hi @cgh2022,

I assume you are displaying this form once a user selects an item from a gallery, you can use this syntax for Patch:

    • Patch('SharePoint List', 'Gallery Name'.Selected, {'Multi-line column name': 'Text Input control Name'.Text});

    Thanks,

Thanks for the reply, but i am using a table to display the sharepoint list, here is a print, and when a user goes to an item it opens this form.

i think i need to go with a collection here, right, to gather the tickets in a collection then use the collection name to call out the patch function.

after i get the comment to go to sp list, i also need to be visible in the ticket somewhere as a list. Saw that online, but they are using galleries to display the tickets.

An example of how you could do this:

Create a new list and call it Ticket Notes. Make this have a look up to the Tickets list.

(Many-to-One relationship - There can be many notes for one ticket)

Make a note icon button in your gallery to display a popup box with a form and a gallery. The form would be a single text input to allow users to make notes and have the lookup field be defaulted to the parent ID and have this invisible to the user.

The gallery would also filter the notes by the parent ID and you could have this in descending order of created date to show the most recent note at the top.

Sorry if this is confusing, if you need help with this comment my name in your reply so I don't miss it.

    Hi

I’ve created a similar Help Desk application in Power Apps, which explains everything step-by-step — from ticket creation to status tracking and admin management.

You can check out my full video tutorial here:

This video will help you build your own Help Desk app easily and also answer most of the common questions that come up during development.

    Hope it helps! 😊
