I am very new to Power Apps. I am trying to add a Custom Connector in my Contact table. I want to be able use a postcode that is entered to work out the constituency that that postcode is in and to auto-populate a Constituency field. I'm struggling to know what information I need to put on each of the pages from (3) Definitions onwards. The host page is theyworkforyou.com. If anyone can help me with the data I need to insert in each of the fields in the Custom Connector or suggestions for another host page, if that is better, is good too.

You are using TheyWorkForYou.com API.

The first and foremost step would be to get the API key. Maybe signup with TheyWorkForYou.com API and get the API key and save it.

1) Configure the General page in custom connector:

Scheme: HTTPS

Host: www.theyworkforyou.com

Base URL: /api/

2) Configure Authentication (API Key)

3) Definition

Create a new Action and name it GetConstituencyFromPostcode.

Fill in General Settings => Summary, Description and Operation ID (GetConstituency)

Setup the Request

Click "Import from sample"

Select GET method

Enter the URL (replace <YOUR_API_KEY> with {key})

https://www.theyworkforyou.com/api/getConstituency?postcode={postcode}&key={key}&output=json

Click Import

Define Parameters

postcode => Required, type: string

key => Required, type: string

Define the Response

Click "Add default response"

Click "Import from sample"

Enter a sample response

4) Test your custom connector

Thank you Vipul. I think I'm getting there... I followed your instructions and a Youtube video... I'm not sure that I've done everything quite right, but when I look at a list of current connections it says that it is Connected! I don't know how to incorporate it into my Model Driven App though... I will try and find a video to help, but if you see this reply and can point me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful. Thanks very much for your guidance so far!

Hi Vipul, thanks. I'll try to incorporate the custom connector in a model driven app, not canvas app. I'll try watching your video though and see if it enlightens me.

Your video is very useful Vipul, but I've got an error... I don't know what needs to go in the Output section. Also once I've got this sorted, I still don't quite understand how I instruct Power Apps to use the data in the Postcode column to populate the Constituency column in the same Table. Thanks so much for your help so far.
