Select multiple items from a lookup field

Hi,

I have a lookup field from it shows related records from other lookup.  e.g I have an Order form, as and when selected the Account, the contact drop down shows only contacts for selected contacts for above selected Account. Now an issue is I would like to change the behaviour to choose more than one contact using multi select option list.

The current process allows only to select only one contact using lookup field.

Would it be possible to select multiple items in the lookup field? currently I am only able to select the one record.

Please suggest.

I have the same question (0)

If you want to select multiple from another entity like a lookup, you need to create a N:N relationship. this is not displayed in a lookup field but you can display it in a subgrid, which is still on the main form and lets you associate multiple related records.

    Hi,

Thanks for your email. It would great if you can share a sample code or link.

I am in the context of the custom entity called "Order", this entity form has the following two lookup fields.

    1) Account Name :  Lookup field from Accounts.

    2) Contacts: Lookup field from Contacts (Here i need to select multiple contacts)

Could you please explain in detail where to create N:N relationship? in Account, Contact or Order entites ?

    Please suggest?

    Regards

    Prasad Vasadi.

If you want multiple contacts linked to an order, create a N:N relationship on either the order or contact entity.

    Hi,

Thanks for your solution. I am able to achieve this using N:N relationship but by default subgrid behavior showing all the contacts from the contact entity, however, I need the contacts only in the Account selected from the Order form.

Can you share your inputs about how to restrict the subgrid to show only associated contacts selected from the Account in the Order form?

    Many Thanks.

    Prasad Vasadi.

There isn’t an officially supported way to do this with a standard sub grid but may I suggest an embedded canvas app?

Hello, has anyone found a solution to this? What is the best workaround to achieve multi select of lookup field in canvas app?
