How to place a container on top of a form.

Hi Folks

I'm building an app to allow people to submit cases to a CRM app. I'd like a blurb with instructions to appear first and when the 'New' button is clicked, the container containing the blurb becomes invisible and the form behind it is visible.

The first problem I'm facing is I can't get the container to occupy the same space as the form. The 'move' cursor won't appear no matter where I move the mouse. I don't see anything in properties to allow me to place it based on X or Y etc.

Can anyone help with this? Thanks

You can adjust the X, Y, Height and Width of the container in the right panel, but do not put it in the form, put it on top (outside the container the form is in) and then simply set the Visible to false when you want to hide it. Use a "normal" container - not a Horizontal or Vertical item.

Thanks WarrenBelz I've been trying changing the properties but nothing seems  to work. As you can see from these attachments, if I set X and Y to 0 or 50 or anything in between, the container doesn't move.

You have placed vertical container inside a vertical container, rather than that place in this way.

Vertical Container -> Form & Normal Container

Once this layout its been fixed you can adjust this accordingly.

As I noted in my response, use.a “standard” container (not a vertical or horizontal item) and put it outside the form and all the other containers “on top” of the others and form. You can then easily control the X, Y, Height, Width and Visible.
