I have already linked dataverse to Azure Synapse.

How will I rename the database?

Also, how can I rename "cr579_pendingcost" to "pending cost"?

Please advice.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello, @Mark_Yeap,

    1. Open the Azure Synapse workspace in the Azure portal.

    2. In the left-hand menu, click on "Manage" to open the management hub.

    3. In the management hub, select "SQL databases" under the "Services" section.

    4. Select the Dataverse database that you want to rename.

    5. Click on the "Rename" button at the top of the page.

    6. In the dialog box that appears, enter the new name for the database.

    7. Click on the "Rename" button to complete the renaming process.

Note that renaming a Dataverse database can take several minutes to complete, and may result in some downtime for the database. Also, any connections or applications that are currently using the database will need to be updated with the new database name.

It's important to test the connections and applications after the renaming process to ensure that they are still functioning correctly.

You can't rename "cr579_pendingcost" because it is a system logical name and can't be changed. Power Platform Object must have a publisher prefix in their logical name. You can create your own publisher prefix by creating a Solution and a new publisher before you create the Dataverese tables.

I don't see "Manage" at Azure Synapse workspace in Azure portal.

I need to rename database from "dataverse_devpowerapp_unq800bf7c298beed11a10d00224817c" to "dev_power_app".
