Update Excel offline App

Hello together,

i have an excel data as an data source in my app ( i know its not the best but we need an offline solution and sharepoint is not an option) and i can't update the excel data.

I already learnt thats because the excel data is attached with the app.

Is it possible to create a button that deletes the old excel data as a data source and connect a "new" (the same updatet one) excel data with my app? I know that i can delete the old one manually and connect it with the new one but i want that function via a button that others can do that too. The link to the excel data would remain the same during the lifetime of the app.

I hope anyone can understand what i need.
Kind regards from germany.

    Hi @EA10 ,

Unfortunately embeded Excel data not only cannot be written to, but also can only be loaded in Design mode. You could look at an Excel data source stored in a shared OneDrive folder (not the best option, but you have said SharePoint is not available) and you should be able to read from and write to that.

    Hi @WarrenBelz ,

thanks for your answer. Is there any other datasource i can try to use my app offline? The reason is that the app should be used to collect data during events (offline) and after that the app should load the data into a sharepointlist. So Sharepoint is an option but only after the events and the data in the sharepointlist are to much to store them in a collection in the app.

    Hi @EA10 ,

The issue you have is that any data source available to Power Apps is online (it is a cloud app). Offline capabilities are available in Power Apps - this is probably a good document to start with
