Solution Layering? Single App Deployed via Multiple Solutions?

Original deployed an application (with multiple components) within Solution 1 to a managed environment, at some point in time there was a problem deploying Solution 1 so created Solution 2 containing just a single Canvas app which successfully deployed. Recently deployed Solution 1 (containing the Canvas app) however those changes specific to this Canvas app are not reflected after the deployment but all other changes do appear. Looking at the app in the higher environment it appears to have 2 layers, one for each solution deployed. It appears layer 2 deployed with Solution 2 is taking precedency over layer 1.

Any ideas how to remove this layer 2?

The layer for Solution 2 is probably an unmanaged layer on top of the original solution. This article explains how to see the layers and how to remove an unmanaged layer. Solution layers in Power Platform - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

It is a managed layer.
