Automate filed from selection of another field

I am very new to Power Apps and was wondering if you could help me, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

 

I am trying to auto populate the status field to Submitted to Supervisor, I am unable to find a var for the status filed in my sharepoint list, and the one Var that shows up does not work.   Any suggestions or work arounds?  I am also going to hide the status filed after so in the submission form it does not show, however it will show on another screen.

    VarP is a variance function...it is not what you want nor how you set values in PowerApps.

    What is the Items property of the combobox you are showing in the picture?  And, if you want to just set it to "Submitted to Supervisor" - are you wanting to *always* set it to that, or allow users to change it?

    So the supervisor email is auto populated by the user selecting there supervisor, then I am trying change the status automatically when the for is submitted to the sup to change to "Submitted to Supervisor".  I was following a set of instructions I had found that said to set var however my status field on the sharepoint list dose not have a var set.  I hope I am making sense.
