[Power Automate] Flow that asks to assign person during approval to one of the SharePoint List's columns

Hi all,

What I try to achieve is to ask approver to assign a person in SharePoint list column (people picker).

So the plan is following:

1. Approval is triggered

2. Person opens approve dialog.

2.1 Dialog "asks" to enter person name for 3 columns within SharePoint list - trying to achieve this.

2.2 Person clicks approve - flow is finished

3. Person clicks rejected - flow is finished

Can you please guide if this possible to mimic withing approval flow, or can be done in another way?  I don't want to create task in Planner asking to do this.

Thanks in advance

    Hi @SiriusCanopus ,

Could you please share more details about your scenario? Are the persons in steps 2 and 3 exact the same?  Approvals will return Approved or Rejected status only, and there is no relationship between the approval with enter names in SharePoint list columns. In short, the flow cannot detect whether the names have been entered into the list.

Logically, you can use flow 1 to send a message/Email with list item link to a person, ask them to enter names in list columns of this item, run a flow 2 to start approval on this item.

    Best regards,

Ok, what you are saying makes perfect sense. Let me rephrase the question.

Is it possible to add condition (it will check if SharePoint column is not null) that will prevent approve of the flow and will not allow to approve till there is a value in that column.

Right now it looks like this, which starts approval every time value is null, but I try to prevent clicking on Approve
