How to update embedded app with filter for active record on form?

Hello,

I currently have a canvas app embedded in a model-driven form to select approvers for a process. I would like the embedded canvas app to be filtered based on the active record selected in the form.

Is there a simple way to pull the "active record" display name in the form to filter within the canvas app?

Hi,

You need to pass a parameter from the model driven app into the embedded Canvas app.

Asad's suggestion brought me closer (I think!). Within the embedded Canvas App, I now have an OnStart function that creates a variable that looks for the record that corresponds to the GUID of the record that is selected on the form. The selected record corresponds to the "id" parameter in the URL of the model-driven app:

Except that "id" in the model-driven app URL is not being passed on to the embedded app. The "id" parameter is blank. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this. In Asad's video, the parameter is specified in the URL for the canvas app. Can the embedded app receive this parameter dynamically from the controlling app URL?
