hit here does anyone knows the inability of Copilot Studio agents to consume content from modern SharePoint pages (page canvas / web parts) considered a permanent product boundary, or a capability gap planned to be addressed?

The customer must transform SharePoint page content into file-based knowledge sources,

This workaround is currently the only reliable option to ensure Copilot Studio agents can generate answers based on the content.

Can you confirm or would you know if whether this limitation is an intentional product boundary (file-centric RAG model in Copilot Studio), and whether customers should assume that SharePoint page canvas grounding is out of scope for Copilot Studio compared to the SharePoint-embedded Microsoft 365 Copilot experience? thanks again

Microsoft Add SharePoint as a knowledge source supports SharePoint (list and libraries) and explains how to improve retrieval using Tenant Graph grounding with semantic search, but it does not announce ingestion of web‑part canvas content as a supported scenario or a planned addition.

Can you confirm or would you know if whether this limitation is an intentional product boundary (file-centric RAG model in Copilot Studio), and whether customers should assume that SharePoint page canvas grounding is out of scope for Copilot Studio compared to the SharePoint-embedded Microsoft 365 Copilot experience?

Yes. Copilot Studio uses a file-centric Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) model for knowledge sources. It indexes files (DOCX, PDF, PPTX, etc.) and lists from SharePoint, not the dynamic content rendered in the modern page canvas or SPFx web parts.

As of now, I haven't see any features or roadmap or documentation about Copilot Studio will support ingestion of modern page canvas/web-part content.
