Can't import an Excel file to a table

I can't create a table from an Excel file (it has 3 columns and 50 rows), all text.  I've also tried creating a new table and copying rows into the table, but you can only update 1 cell at a time.

    I changed the data to a table and it worked the first time, but now I'm getting the same error on a subsequent table.
