SharePoint PowerApp Integration - Access?

(0) ShareShare

Hello,

I am embedding an app I have created within our SharePoint homepage just using the modern PowerApps web part, however I am encountering an issue.

If I use this Copy link to play app button in the Share interface and just send anyone in my organization that link directly, they can use the app no problem without needing to request additional permission.

It seems however that if I use that exact same link to embed the app on my SharePoint page, it no longer assumes access and I must manually grant each user who will visit the page access to the app...

Is there any way around this so that everyone who can access the SharePoint page can view the app without needing to request permission? I am at an organization with lots of staffing changes/recruitment so we'd really prefer to not have to grant new employees permission every time they join if possible.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

    hey

did you share the app with your org or just putting it out there without sharing?

the easiest way is to share with groups and put new employee in groups the app is shared with so you do not need to throw everybody in there 1 by 1.

Thanks for your reply; I didn't share it with the organization itself, no. There is a Group that comes from our SharePoint site itself, but when I go to search for it in the 'Share' screen on my Power App it doesn't actually show up as an option. Is that because it is listed here as a 'Private Group'? If so, I see there is an option to make it public but I fear that this will give anyone in the environment access to our SharePoint site when it should only be limited to people within our specific branch.

If you are talking about the Sharepoint Groups Like owner member visitor, they are in Sharepoint only and do Not exist in entra/Azure

You would need to create a new one and share with that

@mmbr1606 Hmm I see, in that case I would need to ask our IT department to create that I think as I'm not an admin...

I am confused though because our SharePoint group shows up in my Outlook Groups list and it has a .onmicrosoft.com email address:

And if I search on the 'Share' window there is actually a few of those .onmicrosoft.com addresses coming up that appear to be associated with different groups:

So are those not other SharePoint based groups? Or is the onmicrosoft.com address basically used for any M365 based groups regardless of their type.

If it has an onMicrosoft Email it should be a m365 Group and Not a Sharepoint only Group normally U should be able to use that for sharing

Can u Type in the exact emailadress in the Sharing firld and See If IT Pops Up this way?
