Drop down list - jump to entry by letter

I've been building a Power App for a client where they can select one of their client names from a dropdown menu. This dropdown menu is being fed by a Sharepoint list for its content. Now that this Sharepoint list is growing to quite a number, we've come across an issue. Usually, if you open a dropdown menu in let's say a webform, then click on the letter K on you keyboard, the active selection would jump to the first option in the list starting with a K.

Our dropdown in the Power App does not do this and I haven't found an easy answer yet on if this behaviour is possible or not. Maybe I havent found the right search terms...

Does anyone know if there's a way to quickly go through a drop down list's content like this?

    Hey @mm_Jeff

As far as I know, the dropdown element does not support the desired requirement of yours. You can change the dropdown to a combobox, then in the search bar of the combobox the search for the prefixes can be unified. This should be very close to what you are currently trying to achieve.

    Hi @mm_Jeff

as Aaron said you need to use the combobox not the dropdown.

here is an example for reference:

mycombobox name is combobox5 and i am filtering Test sp list using title column.

item property as shown in pic;Displayfield and searchfield property same Title. This will function properly even if ur list crosses 2000items

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.
