Releasing Power Apps to the Enterprise

Hey,

Currently we have PowerApps E3 and Common Data Service E3 licenses disabled across our tenant. I have got my PowerApps governance in place and I am looking to enable PowerApps for everyone. Our "Default" environment has a CDS Database behind it. We have not used the CDS yet for PowerApps as we only have E3 licenses across the enterprise.

When I enabled a PowerApps E3 license I'm getting the following message on make.powerapps.com

Untitled.png

From testing I have discovered that:

- This error does now appear when creating apps in an environment without a CDS database.

- When you assign a Common Data Service licence this error is removed.

How can I remove this error? I do not want to enable the "common data service" E3 license as our users are not licensed to use CDS or create model driven apps with their E3 licenses.

Thanks for any info!

    Hi @Anonymous,

The CDS E3 assignment is required to support some capabilities with M365 apps that use CDS under the hood.

Users would need a standalone Power Apps or Power Automate license to use the CDS connector in apps/flows. More information at the reference below.
