Hi all,
I’ve recently started building solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate for internal business workflows. As someone coming from a non-developer background, it was a bit overwhelming at first.
I wanted to ask the community:
What helped you the most when starting out?
Do you recommend focusing on Dataverse early or starting with SharePoint integrations?
Any pitfalls to avoid when learning Power Automate flows?
For anyone in a similar situation, I found a step-by-step beginner-friendly course that helped me grasp the basics with real-world scenarios. It covers Power Apps, Automate, SharePoint, and Dataverse integration.

I refer the concepts from Shane Young (Youtube) & Practical Implementation (Rezza) this helped me a lot.
Do you recommend focusing on Dataverse early or starting with SharePoint integrations?
Here one advantage is, irrespective of any data-source the logics and implementation remains the same, Its not big difference with dataverse and sharepoint.
For now lets start with the Sharepoint.
Any pitfalls to avoid when learning Power Automate flows?
Learn, how to call the rest api with sharepoint, sometimes some special column update will be difficult in power automate.
Also, Microsoft offering the community driven program for the power platform (https://powerup.microsoft.com/) apply for it.
