Adding PowerFX Functions to Existing Canvas App

Anyone able to do this?

Under the Invoke a function from a canvas app or custom page section, step 4, adding the "Environment" table to the canvas app doesn't work.  There's no Environment table listed.

Now, if I create a new canvas app from scratch, the Environment table is available.

What am I missing that I cannot add the Environment table to the existing canvas app?

Thanks for any help.

You aren't missing anything at least what you described. You certainly can add it, as long as the app is part of an environment that is a true dataverse its no issue.

Is the app part of a Solution? and you are typing in env and nothing comes up from dataverse? Can you see other tables like Contact etc?

Can you tell me, what type of environment it is (Dev, Default, Sandbox, Prod)?

Can you do me a favor and in that specific environment, go to Solutions, go to Unmanaged (default first tab), go to the Default solution, open it, go to Tables, verify Environment is there.

And any pictures are appreciated it. Post them don't attach... attaching barely works ever

    Thanks for the reply.

    Some answers to your questions:

The app is part of a solution.  This work is in a sandbox environment, but the app also exists in production.  The app is actively maintained, and all development occurs in the sandbox first.  We'd like to pull some calculations out of this app and make available to other apps/custom pages.  Hence the desire to use the Functions preview feature.

    For this app in question:

Yes, I try typing "environment" and the table is not available to add.  Environment Variable Values and Definitions tables only.

Yes, I can see other tables like Contacts.

Default solution in this environment doesn't show the Environment table.

    The really frustrating part:

A new blank app, in the same environment, in the same solution allows me to add a table that apparently doesn't exist in my dataverse:
