A Date Hierarchy keeps appearing when creating dimDate table

When creating the dimDate table, a Date Hierarchy keeps appearing so when I add the date to the rows, it goes to a hierarchy rather than just showing dates. I have deleted the table and recreated it and got the same thing

I had the same issue. I couldn't resolve it.
    I just carried on, regardless.

Same thing happened here. I'm not an expert but it looks like it's coming from the date of the Loans in the loans table.

A bit later in the video Rory shows you how to mark the dimDate table as a "Date Table" which appears to resolve the issue.

Same here,  there's something out of order,  if you do it later on in the course it shows correctly - almost like the table relationship needs to be there then it shows.    But, when you add loans it again flattens out with Full Name of Student.
If you select "show rows with no data" then it shows correctly. -
    I carried on regardless also

Under Visualizations pane, change the column setting from "Date Hierarchy" to the column name e.g. DateOfAdoption.

Hi! I had this issue too, it comes from Power BI's Auto Time/Date feature. I found how to fix it here

    Hope this helps!
